Hi, I’m Sean Durkee and I’m running for Waltham City Council in Ward 6. I am asking for your vote in the upcoming General Election on November 5, 2019. I’ve knocked on many of your doors and heard your concerns about key issues Waltham is facing – overdevelopment and traffic, preserving open space, completing the Wayside Rail Trail, caring for our seniors, and building a state of the art high school for Waltham’s young people. I have the skills and experience to tackle these tough issues.

I grew up on Prentice Street, attended the Plympton School, played Little League at Nipper Maher Park, and am an Eagle Scout. I have lived in Waltham my entire adult life. As a veteran and Warrant Officer in the Army National Guard, and now Reserves, I have also traveled all over the world, deploying to Iraq and Kosovo. I’ve seen what government can do for people when it works, and what it means for communities when it doesn’t. I have an MBA with a concentration in finance from Bentley University which I earned while working full-time and attending school at night. I have over twenty years of experience in finance, including managing multi-million dollar budgets and government contracts, that I will bring to the City Council.

I’m a homeowner and a taxpayer. I’m the son, brother, and uncle, of members of the Waltham community, and I’ve been your neighbor on Hammond Street for more than a decade. I am asking for your vote so I can be your voice at City Hall, to make sure you have access to the services your taxes pay for and that Ward 6 and all of Waltham has a bright future.

Sincerely,

Sean Durkee
